Feng Shui Tips to Get Your Ca$h Flowing Again!

In these ‘unique’ economic times, there are many challenges facing each and every one of us.  Do not think you are alone. While it’s very easy to become fearful, try to maintain a positive attitude.  The Universal Law of Attraction says that whatever we dwell upon will continually come back to us.  This belief is also true in Feng Shui because it is the study of life energy. Obviously we don’t want to live a life of scarcity, so do not dwell upon this type of life. I am sure that using my Feng Shui tips will  ‘energetically’ give you a feeling of comfort and positive awareness so you can get the ca$h flowing to you once again!

1. Inspect your front door - In Feng Shui, the front door is believed to welcome good luck, prosperity, happiness & joy energies into your home. This is why it is called the “mouth of Chi” (energy).  Make sure there is a clear path to your door, plant some colorful flowers, trim the shrubs, hang a wind chime, keep the steps clear and the porch clean and well lit.  Every time you open the front door, the happy Chi energy will enter to nurture you and your family.

2. Make a Grand Entrance - Your foyer area should be a clutter-free zone.  Do not allow anything to stop that good flow of energy! Your front door should open as wide as possible.  If there is a hall tree with coats or shoes piled up by the door, remove them immediately.  Keep a bright light on in the entrance. If you have a mirror hanging directly across from the front door, remove it or hang it on another wall.  Mirrors opposite the front door will reflect your prosperous Chi energy right back out the door!  Add some artwork or a rug in blue or black tones to enhance your Career.  If you have a stairway that leads directly towards the front door, you can place a rug at the bottom of the steps or hang a faceted crystal with red cord from the ceiling. Both of these Feng Shui cures placed with intention will stop the downward rushing energy from your steps.

3. What’s in Your Abundance Corner?  Standing at your front door, look at the far left corner of your home. What room is there? Hopefully it’s not a bathroom!  This is your Abundance area. Notice that I say ‘Abundance’ and not ‘Wealth’ as some Feng Shui books mention.  A person can have money in the bank and still not be abundant in the things that really matter.  Is their family loving, do they have a satisfying job, are they following their bliss, do they have good friends, do they live a happy life, and are they well respected in their community?  See what I mean. • Make room for abundance by keeping this area clutter-free
• Decorate with the colors of purple, green and some red
• Keep a savings bank book or coin jar in this area
• Display wooden items since this area is a Wood element
• Place potted live plants with rounded leaves or bamboo here
• Keep a water fountain bubbling with fresh water
• Display items that represent abundance to you –be creative

4. Don’t Flush Your Money Away! You need to energetically seal up money leaks in your home. Any drain in your home can potentially ‘flush’ away your finances, not to mention your good health. Sealing the drains is especially important if your Abundance area contains a bathroom. Seal all kitchen and bathroom sinks, toilets and washers. To do this, tie a red cord or ribbon in 9” or 18” increments around any outgoing pipes with the intention that they are now “sealed” and will not affect your finances or any other essential life areas. You can keep your bathroom doors closed too!

5. Sushi Anyone (Just Kidding)?  A well maintained aquarium boosts energy in the Abundance or Career area (by the front door).  Choose bright and energetic fish to stimulate positive ‘Chi’ energy.  Feng Shui recommends 8 goldfish and 1 black fish since 9 is an auspicious or lucky number.  It is said that the black fish will absorb any negative ‘Chi’ energy. If any fish die, you must replace them immediately.

6. Picture Yourself Wealthy - Place paintings or photos of waterfalls, lush greenery, majestic mountains, bamboo, marigolds or flowers blooming in the colors of purple or green in the Abundance area. Use whatever works well with your décor.

7. Write a Check to Yourself – You can draw a check and make it payable to yourself in the amount of money you feel you need right now to cover your bills and a little bit more. Then sign it from “The Universe”.  When that goal is achieved, just draw another check for the next amount needed. Visualize checks like this flowing to you and you depositing them in the bank. It may take some effort on your part, but remember that we create whatever we focus on consistently!  Focus your mind on Abundance!

8. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude - Be constantly grateful for the abundance of riches you already have in your life.  I advise people to keep a gratitude journal. Write down the little and big things you are grateful for every day in your life.  We sometimes forget the small things that we take for granted. STOP and give thanks to a higher power and The Universe for blessing you with a roof over your head, food to eat, fresh water, a bed to sleep in, hearing the birds chirping, seeing beautiful flowers and scenery, having a loving family, receiving a hug from your partner and children and having great supportive friends.

Be creative and empower yourself to perform these Feng Shui tips with crystal clear intention – this will add more energy and power to your enhancements!  The Universal Law of Attraction states that the more you give, the more you receive.  Feng Shui says that if you give money or assistance to others, it will return to you ten-fold. If you don’t have the funds, give of yourself.  Become a volunteer for a school or local organization that makes you feel happy, blessed and worthy. And you know what?  You are worthy!
